StageAntics presents BADJELLY THE WITCH
Adapted by Alannah O'Sullivan
From the book by Spike Milligan
Licensed by Playmarket NZ
_________________________________________
When siblings Tim and Rose set off into the forest to find their beloved cow Lucy, they tumble head-first into a world that is wildly ridiculous, slightly alarming, and completely bonkers.
Enter Badjelly — a cackling, boastful witch who claims she can turn children into sausages, boys into chop suey, and entire forests into her personal kingdom of doom.
(She can’t. Probably.)
Along the way, Tim and Rose meet a parade of peculiar creatures — talking worms, melancholy tree spirits, questionable goblins — and discover that courage, kindness, and a dash of imagination are far more powerful than any witch’s wobbly spell.
Full of anarchic humour, absurd storytelling, and heartwarming bravery, Badjelly the Witch is a delightfully chaotic adventure celebrating the glorious power of imagination.
You can expect outrageous characters through a professional Theatre for Young Audiences experience with full StageAntics sparkle including big laughs for little humans (and even bigger ones for grown-ups)
This is storytelling at its silliest and most sincere — a theatrical romp for tamariki, rangatahi, and anyone who still believes a forest might contain something extraordinary.
Come ready to laugh.
Come ready to imagine.
And whatever you do…
Don’t believe everything Badjelly tells you. 🧙♀️✨

Hadestown: Teen Edition
Welcome to the underworld… where the road is long, the wind is cold, and a song just might change your fate.
Hadestown: Teen Edition is a bold, electrifying folk-opera that intertwines two mythic love stories — young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and the powerful, complicated bond between Hades and Persephone.
Set in a world where industry rules and hope is a radical act, Orpheus journeys to the underworld to rescue Eurydice, armed with nothing but his music and an unshakeable belief that love can light the darkest places.
With haunting melodies, driving rhythms, and a story that feels both ancient and urgently now, Hadestown: Teen Edition is a powerful celebration of resilience, community, and the courage it takes to hold onto hope.
Raw. Riveting. Unforgettable.
Come see why we tell the story again. 🎶✨
